🚨 Paul Harvey Warned Us in 1965—His Words Are Hauntingly True Today!

I used to listen to Paul Harvey with my mom in the ’70s. He was always incredibly insightful, and now, 60 years later—something he broadcast in 1965 still echoes in our society with unsettling accuracy.

In a radio commentary titled **“If I Were the Devil,”** Harvey spoke as if he were the Prince of Darkness plotting how he’d corrupt America. He’d start a **“campaign of whispers,”** convincing the young that **“The Bible is a myth,”** and persuading older generations to repurpose sacred devotion into political adoration, saying, *“Our Father… which art in Washington.”* He imagined subverting culture by promoting **lurid literature, dirtier TV, narcotics, alcohol for “distinguished” people, and tranquilizing pills for the rest** ([Nebula][1], [Manassas Church of God][2]). He foresaw media-driven divisions—**families, churches, even nations torn apart by sensationalism** ([Nebula][1]).

He warned of schools emphasizing intellect over emotional discipline, leading to environments with **drug-sniffing dogs and metal detectors** ([Nebula][1]). The piece culminated with chilling illustrations: Easter reduced to an egg, Christmas to a bottle; ambition killed by welfare schemes; and the erosion of family, virtue, and even common sense ([Nebula][1], [Snopes][3]).

Nearly six decades on, many of his warnings feel more prophetic than ever. It’s haunting how close today’s reality mirrors that dark vision—Paul Harvey’s words still deliver a sobering call to awareness.
