Customers Outraged Over McDonald’s New Burger, Some Call It ‘Obscene’

McDonald’s fans in the U.S. are in for a supersized treat, as the fast-food giant brings the **Double Big Mac** from Australia to American menus starting **January 24**—but only for a limited time.

The towering burger, first launched in Australia in March 2020, features **four beef patties**, layers of lettuce, pickles, onions, American cheese, and McDonald’s signature Big Mac sauce, all stacked between a sesame seed bun. It’s a hearty upgrade from the original Big Mac, delivering what McDonald’s calls “double the fun.”

Reactions have been mixed. Excited fans took to social media with comments like, *“I’ll take three, please!”* and *“I’m gonna feel disgusting after, but I’ll enjoy every minute.”* Others criticized the move, pointing to America’s high obesity rates and calling the burger “obscene.”

The Double Big Mac has already been a hit in countries such as **Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the UK**, where it’s become a regular menu item. Some U.S. fans noted it previously made a brief appearance in 2020, earning rave reviews.

At **680 calories**, this massive burger could also come with a hefty price tag. With McDonald’s prices up 14% in 2023, some locations charge up to **\$18 for a Big Mac combo**, meaning the Double version could exceed \$20.

Whether seen as an indulgent dream or a nutritional nightmare, the Double Big Mac is set to make waves—and fill stomachs—across America this winter.
