Those poor babies😞

A frightening accident occurred earlier this week in Texas when a school bus carrying more than 40 people overturned on a rural road outside Austin. Authorities reported that **ten people, including nine students, were hospitalized**, with one suffering life-threatening injuries and two others sustaining potentially life-threatening injuries.

The **Travis County Emergency Services District** confirmed that the crash involved an elementary school bus belonging to the Leander Independent School District. According to officials, the incident happened Wednesday afternoon, shortly after school ended but before any students had been dropped off. In total, **43 people were on board — 42 students and the driver**.

Assistant Chief **Kevin Parker** with Austin-Travis County Emergency Services noted the severity of the injuries, while school officials expressed deep concern for the affected families. Superintendent Bruce Gearing told reporters that while the driver was experienced, the cause of the crash remains unclear. Early reports indicate the bus, a 2024 model, veered off the road on a curve before rolling over.

Video from the scene showed the yellow bus lying on its side, with a crushed roof and shattered windows. Emergency responders worked quickly to transport injured students and the driver to local hospitals.

Despite the initial seriousness, a later update from the district confirmed that **all hospitalized students have since been released**.

The **Texas Department of Public Safety** is investigating the cause of the accident. In the meantime, school officials pledged full support for the children and families impacted. *“Our prayers are with them, and we will do everything in our power to support them,”* Gearing said.
