Diane Keaton was known for her unique style, spotted last wearing a turtleneck, the garment held a different meaning for her… 💔😨

Fashion may come and go, but Diane Keaton’s signature style has remained iconic for decades. The 76-year-old actress is instantly recognizable for her love of turtlenecks, wide-brimmed hats, tailored suits, and gloves—a look that has become her trademark both on and off the screen.

Born in Los Angeles in 1946, Keaton has always embraced a fashion sense that is both modest and powerful. While Hollywood often celebrates glitz and glamour, Keaton prefers sophistication and structure. She’s known for favoring neutral colors and fully covered outfits, but far from being dull, her clothing choices exude confidence and individuality.

In her 2014 memoir *Let’s Just Say It Wasn’t Pretty*, Keaton praised her favorite wardrobe staple, writing, “Turtlenecks cushion, shield, and insulate a person from harm.” To her, fashion is not only about appearance—it’s about comfort and self-protection. Inspired by the street styles of 1970s New York and designers like Ralph Lauren, Keaton helped redefine femininity by embracing masculine silhouettes, much like her idols Katharine Hepburn and Marlene Dietrich.

Her style also serves a practical purpose. Keaton admits that her covered-up look helps her feel secure as she ages, saying, “You don’t want the arms flailing about when you’re past a certain age.” Additionally, her hats are not just fashionable—they’re functional. After suffering from multiple cases of skin cancer, Keaton relies on hats and sunscreen for protection. “Back in my 20s I didn’t care much,” she confessed, “and that was stupid because it’s dogged me my entire adult life.”

For Keaton, fashion is ultimately about self-acceptance. “How much can I cover up? What is covering up me? What does it mean to other people?” she once mused. Her message is clear: confidence comes from embracing who you are.

Diane Keaton’s timeless style reminds us that true elegance isn’t about trends—it’s about authenticity, comfort, and loving what you have.
