Newlyweds Killed Less Than 48 Hours After Their Wedding

**Note: This story was originally reported in October 2021.**

A Tennessee community was left heartbroken after a devastating highway crash claimed the lives of newlyweds **Jessiah Plemons** and **Lily Rose**, along with their close friend **Madison Davis**. The tragedy struck less than **48 hours after Jessiah and Lily were married**, cutting short what was supposed to be the beginning of a beautiful new chapter.

According to the **Knoxville Police Department**, the accident occurred early Sunday morning around 3 a.m. The three friends were traveling along the **Weisgarber exit ramp on Interstate 40** when their **Dodge pickup truck** veered off the road and hit a guardrail. After they exited the vehicle, a **Chevy pickup** struck both their truck and them, killing all three instantly. The Chevy’s driver survived with non-life-threatening injuries.

Lily was known for her bright spirit and joyful energy. Her family remembers her as “the life of every room.” Her aunt, **Selena McClelland**, shared tearfully, “Her laughter would fill the room. She just made everything more beautiful.” Lily loved creating **TikTok videos** with friends and family, spreading positivity wherever she went.

Jessiah, meanwhile, had a deep passion for **music** and **helping others**. He introduced Lily to her first concert, gifted her a guitar, and often played drums beside her. Having overcome addiction himself, he dedicated his life to guiding others through recovery, sharing his story in **local jails** and mentoring those in need. His mother described him as “a caring soul who always made sure everyone else was okay.”

Both Jessiah and Lily were devoted parents — Lily to a son and daughter, and Jessiah to his sister’s two children, whom he helped raise. They had planned to **blend their families into one loving household of six**.

The couple had **secretly eloped**, asking Jessiah’s sister to watch the kids without revealing why. Only later did their family learn of the joyful wedding through social media — followed, tragically, by the devastating news of the crash.

Their untimely deaths left an irreplaceable void, but their memory continues to inspire love, kindness, and hope in everyone they touched.
