She has not had a haircut for 25 years, although her husband often begged her to do so. She finally gave up and cut her hair! This is what this woman looks like now
After **25 years of wearing her hair long**, Rosa Ramirez decided it was finally time for a change. Accompanied by some of her close friends, she visited a local hairdresser and had her hair cut to shoulder length — a dramatic shift after decades of keeping the same style.
Eda Motchka, the owner of the salon, spoke with **WXYZ-TV Detroit** about Rosa’s transformation. *“We love to see different things done on customers — different styles — and we meet very often, but I always saw her the same way,”* Motchka explained. The haircut was not just about a new look, though — it carried a much deeper purpose.
Rosa’s decision was motivated by compassion. She donated an incredible **four feet of her hair** to **Locks of Love**, a nonprofit organization that creates wigs for children who have lost their hair due to cancer and other medical conditions. The act symbolized more than just change — it was a gift of hope.
For Rosa, the thought of helping someone else was more rewarding than holding on to her long locks. *“I think it would make somebody’s day who’s suffering from a bad disease, it will make their day a little brighter,”* she said.
Her story quickly spread as an inspiring example of kindness. What began as a personal transformation became a meaningful gesture that will bring comfort and confidence to a child in need. Sometimes, even the simplest changes — like a haircut — can create a ripple of positivity far beyond what we imagine.
