Ryo Tatsuki, a 70-year-old Japanese manga artist, has captured the world’s attention after one of her chilling predictions seemingly came true. Often compared to the famed mystic Baba Vanga, Tatsuki has a track record of foreseeing major events, including Freddie Mercury’s death, the COVlD-19 pand.emic, and the devastating 2011 Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
Her credibility as a psychic figure has surged once again following the recent tsunami warnings across the Pacific Rim, days after an 8.8-magnitude earthquake struck Russia on July 30, 2025.
Tatsuki began documenting her vivid dreams in 1985 and later turned them into a manga book titled *The Future I Saw*, published in 1999. In a 2021 reprint, she wrote about a vision in which the ocean floor between Japan and the Philippines cracked, triggering massive tsunamis three times higher than those in 2011. Her prediction mentioned July 5, 2025, and although the event occurred later in the month, many believe the timing was remarkably close.
As news of the disaster broke, social media buzzed with reactions, and travel to Japan reportedly dropped by over 80%. While Japanese officials dismissed the predictions as unscientific rumors, public concern remained high. Tatsuki later expressed discomfort with how her prediction was publicized, claiming it was rushed into print. Nonetheless, the eerie accuracy of her visions has left many wondering just how far her foresight can reach.
