What do you think of the baby’s name?😳
**Note:** This story originally made headlines in November 2023.
Australian mom and influencer Indy Clinton is proudly standing by her decision to give her daughter the same distinctive name as former *Love Island* star Molly-Mae Hague’s baby—despite online criticism.
Molly-Mae and her partner, Tommy Fury, sparked debate when they announced their daughter’s name, *Bambi*, inspired by the iconic Disney character. While many criticized the unconventional choice, Indy, a 25-year-old fitness blogger from Melbourne, not only chose the same name for her own daughter but also defended Molly-Mae’s decision.
Indy explained that she had long loved the Disney classic and often read the book to her firstborn, Navy. Originally considering the name *Paloma* for her second child, she changed her mind after noticing her newborn’s “sweet, curious nature” and “big brown eyes,” which reminded her of the animated doe.
When she learned Molly-Mae had also named her daughter *Bambi*, Indy was surprised but undeterred, calling it a coincidence and remarking, “Great minds think alike.” She revealed she had believed *Bambi* was “the most unique, unusual name” until the news broke about Molly-Mae.
Brushing off criticism, Indy said unique names are a growing trend, adding, “People will criticize anything these days, so at least give them something to talk about.”
For Indy, *Bambi* represents individuality and breaking from tradition—a choice that reflects the evolving freedom parents have in naming their children. Confident and unapologetic, she continues to embrace her decision, proving that in the modern baby-naming world, originality is here to stay.
