Linda Thompson, former Miss Tennessee and longtime girlfriend of Elvis Presley during the 1970s, has often reflected on the profound relationship she shared with the King of Rock and Roll. Both born in Memphis, Linda admired Elvis from a young age before meeting him shortly after his divorce from Priscilla Presley. Their romance blossomed quickly, and she soon moved into Graceland.

Linda has described their bond as more than just romantic—it was layered with friendship, loyalty, and mutual emotional support. Yet behind the glamour of Graceland, she also witnessed Elvis’s growing struggles with prescription drug dependency and declining health. Many nights, she stayed awake to watch over him, emotionally drained but determined to protect the man she loved.

Their time together was filled with unforgettable memories, including Elvis’s iconic *Aloha from Hawaii* concert in 1973. But by 1975, the weight of his struggles forced Linda to make the painful decision to leave. Despite the breakup, the two stayed in touch until his death in 1977. Just days before he passed, Linda tried to reach him, sending her love through a friend.

After Elvis’s passing, Linda forged her own path as a successful songwriter, contributing to projects like *The Bodyguard* soundtrack and several television shows. She later married Bruce (now Caitlyn) Jenner, with whom she had two sons, and later music producer David Foster.

Still, her connection to Elvis remains central to her life story. A recently uncovered recording of the pair singing *Your Life Has Just Begun* offers a rare glimpse into their private world, reminding fans that beyond the legend was a man deeply loved. Through Linda’s memories, Elvis’s humanity shines as brightly as his music.
