Baby Manushi from Rajasthan, India, is a true miracle. Born via C-section at just 28 weeks due to her mother’s high blood pressure, she weighed only 14 ounces, with underdeveloped organs and a slim chance of survival.
Placed on a ventilator with a survival rate of less than 1%, she received essential nutrients directly into her blood. By seven weeks, she started breastfeeding and breathing independently.
After six months in intensive care, Manushi was discharged at 5.2 pounds. Doctors hoped her survival would highlight the importance of female children in India.
The world’s lightest surviving baby remains Emilia Grabarczyk, born in Germany at just 8 ounces. Wishing Manushi a happy life ahead!
