She revealed the reason in her new Netflix doc 😧

Meghan Markle has confirmed that she now goes by “Sussex” instead of her maiden name. During an episode of her Netflix show, she corrected Mindy Kaling, saying, “You know I’m Sussex now.” Meghan explained that sharing a last name with her children, Archie and Lilibet, is deeply meaningful to her.

She also told People that she hadn’t realized how important it would be until she had kids, adding, “It’s our shared name as a family.” Meghan and Prince Harry, who married in 2018, were given the Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles by Queen Elizabeth II. Their children received royal titles after King Charles III took the throne.
