Brookville High School sprinter Kaelen Tucker suffered a concussion and possible skull fracture after being struck in the head with a baton during a 4×200 meter relay at Liberty University on March 7. Viral footage appeared to show I.C. Norcom’s Alaila Everett hitting her intentionally after being passed on the track.
The video sparked outrage online, with calls to ban Everett from competition. However, Everett insists it was accidental, saying she lost balance and unintentionally hit Tucker while running.
Tucker’s family is seeking a protective order and expressed frustration over the lack of an apology at the event. Everett says she wants to apologize but claims Tucker hasn’t responded. The incident is now under investigation by track authorities.
